You might've seen a few posts ago back in December about the steal I got on a Ps4 over the holidays, but unfortunately I haven't gotten much use out of it at all because of the lack of games so far! Though it has been a paperweight for the most part, I have enjoyed trying out some of the new features it offers and the free PS+ games so far, specifically Outlast.
Outlast one of the first true horror games I've really seen on a platform apart from PC in a long time, being pretty comparable to games like Amnesia. The player is left unarmed throughout the game, so your choice is to either hide in a nearby cabinet, or run for your life.
I was really interested in the share feature that the PS4 offers, since I've desperately wanted to start trying to make Youtube gaming videos and this seems like a really easy way to start off. The share feature allows you to easily upload in-game screenshots and video clips (not exceeding 15 minutes I believe) onto your facebook page and from there you can use Mozilla extensions to save it to your desktop. It seemed really fun to try out so I did!
I'm still definitely new with the whole feature haha, as you can see the clip is pretty random from the first few minutes of the game and originally had a 40 second long pause at the end that I had to cut out. I'm still not totally sure how to record certain time frames manually or how to record the entire playthrough in 15 minute segments since all the videos seemed to be choppy bits and pieces, but I'll update here and on my Youtube often as I learn more about the feature and get the hang of it! Don't forget to push the HD button to watch it in its true resolution :)
Hope you enjoyed! I may invest in a digital recorder soon along with a microphone eventually when I have more free time in the summer to record videos, so go ahead and subscribe if you'd be interested in that for the future :)
